BEFORE COMEDY
Before hitting the road doing stand-up, Marty was a songwriter, recording artist, and actor. He began performing at the age of ten as the drummer in his father's country band, before forming the Quinn Brothers' Band in college and playing in honky-tonks across Montana. After graduating college with an engineering degree, he moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting and eventually recorded an album. Along the way, he was cast in films, commercials, country music videos, and television productions, and was featured in Bill Engvall's breakout “Here's Your Sign” video.
Life also took Marty down some considerably darker roads. His struggles with alcohol, sex, and the law eventually forced him to change direction. Today, more than three decades into sobriety, those experiences have become part of the real-life stories he brings to the stage.
